Introducing my Beagle character, Provo, in his fursuit form. This is myself sitting with Moondog, a white Scottish Terrier, waiting to get on an elevator at Anthrocon 2008.

It took me about 6 months to build Provo, with most of him being finished 2 weeks before the convention (doh! >_< ). The Beagle is a halfsuit, but will hopefully be a full suit by FurFright later this year. Tig is wearing Moondog, and we both helped one another quite a bit. She is an excellent fursuit builder on her own, and she helped me learn a ton about making fursuits.

I learned quite a bit about my fursuit at AC in what was his first romp. First of all, no oxygen can escape his mouth unless it is open (thankfully I put in a moving jaw). I will have to correct this, likely by putting some nostrils and/or fans inside. Second of all, his head is way too big. When I was making him, I kept adding foam to make his shape when I should have been shaving it off! Version 2 of the head will be much smaller.

All-in-all, though, he held up pretty well considering how active I am in suit. The only problem is that I have a number of bruises on my body because I forgot I didn't have a full suit with the extra layer of fur to help protect my body when I decide to tackle a 7 foot tall fursuiter or when I try to jump and slide to win a fursuit game.
